Gaeton J. DeMartino, DMD

Dr. Gaeton J. DeMartino, a native of Easton, Pennsylvania, founded DeMartino Dental Associates in 1961. Following his graduation from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry in 1959, Dr. DeMartino entered the U.S. Navy as a dental officer. After being stationed at Paris Island, South Carolina for several years, he left the Navy and traveled back to the Lehigh Valley to open his dental practice. As a staff dentist for Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, Dr. G.J. DeMartino was instrumental in the opening of Warren Hospital's Dental Clinic, and was responsible for developing a pneumatic non-electrical dental drill to be used in the hospital's operating rooms in the presence of pure oxygen.

Jeffrey R. DeMartino, DMD, D.A.B.F.D.

Dr. Jeffrey R. DeMartino joined his father’s practice in August 1988, after graduating from the Fairleigh S. Dickinson School of Dental Medicine in Teaneck, New Jersey. He received his training in forensic odontology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, D.C. in 1993, and later, achieved Diplomate status of the American Board of Forensic Dentistry in 1997.

Nélida Garcia-DeMartino, DMD

Receiving her dental degree from Fairleigh S. Dickinson School of Dental Medicine in 1987, Dr. Nélida Garcia-DeMartino completed her general practice residency at St. Joseph Medical Center in Patterson, New Jersey. This residency program encompassed all phases of dentistry with a heavy emphasis on oral surgery and periodontics (gum therapies). Following her residency, she joined DeMartino Dental in 1988. Since then, she has completed a lengthy mini-residency in orthodontics allowing her to provide functional orthodontics for children.

Dr. Jeffrey DeMartino and Nélida Garcia-DeMartino have four children: Alessandra, 16, twins Gabriella and Nicola, 15, and Anthony, 11.

Laser Dentistry

All three doctors received extensive training in the theory and applications of lasers in dentistry from HGM Medical Lasers Inc. in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1993. In March the same year, their offices obtained the very first Argon Dental Laser in the state of New Jersey. DeMartino Dental Group, P.C. was chosen by HGM Medical Lasers as an instructional/preceptor site from 1993 to 1998 to further educate other dental practitioners in the use of the Argon Dental Laser. Dr. Jeffrey DeMartino also lectures and instructs other practitioners at our office on the uses of the new hard tissue YSGG Waterlase dental laser.

Drs. Jeffrey and Nélida are members of the Academy of Laser Dentistry.

Minerva, RDH, was born and raised in Lebanon. She graduated from Northampton Community College in 1997 where she earned her Associates in Applied Science Degree in Dental Hygiene.

Peggy, RDH, went to school at Fairleigh S. Dickinson School of Dental Medicine and graduated in 1988. She is originally from Phillipsburg, New Jersey, and joined us in early 2003.

As our dental hygienists, Minerva and Peggy perform complete examinations, including oral cancer screenings, periodontal evaluations, dental prophylaxis and treatment of periodontal disease. Along with taking digital X-rays and placing sealants, they love performing Sapphire Whitening treatment on our patients. They work very hard to help patients of all ages achieve and maintain good oral health.

Mary is our clinical chairside assistant. She joined our practice in April 2009. She was trained by our doctors to assist them in all dental procedures. She makes our patient feel comfortable throughout their appointment. Mary is CPR certified.

Jamie joined our team as a part-time dental assistant. She will be assisting the doctors during our procedures and guiding you through your appointment process. Prior to joining us, she assisted in the management of her family business.

Marlene came on board in March 2005.  She is originally from Lebanon.  Prior to joining our staff, she was a French teacher for 10 years.  She is fluent in Arabic, French and English. She works as our dental assistant to help the doctors throughout all dental procedures.

Chelsea joined our team as our Sterilization Assistant. Since she is a recent graduate of Lehigh Valley School of Dental Assisting, she is currently cross training as a chair side Dental Assistant as well. Chelsea will be responsible for all sterilization procedures through out the practice as well greeting and seating all patients.

She has an extensive background in hospitality and customer service and will ensure your visit with us is pleasurable.

Marisa is our full time front office assistant. Prior to joining our team, she worked in human resources and operations management. She will be more than happy to assist you with coordinating your treatment plans, and assisting you with any insurance issues and concerns. Marisa was previously certified in problem resolution, customer service satisfaction and human resource management.

Suzette joined our team in 2010 and works at the front desk as our front office assistant. Prior to joining us, she worked as an excecutive administrative assistant and in office management. she enjoys cooking and singing in the community chorus In her spare time. Suzette is here to assist you with scheduling your appointments and with your treatment plans. She is a certified NJ fire fighter and also certified in CPR.

Louise started in our practice in 1999. she will guide you with insurance forms and finances and help you with your all your dental benefits questions.
